The lock communicates with your phone via bluetooth while you are standing next to it, if you would like to use the lock while you are away from home or outside of bluetooth range you will need a WiFi Bridge, this enable the lock to connect to the internet so you can use it from anywhere in the world provided you have a stable internet connection
